AIRBLOC (ABL) ICO Review – ICO Token News
AIRBLOC is a decentralized personal data marketplace where individuals would be able to monetize their data, and advertisers would be able to buy these data to conduct targeted marketing campaigns. Targeted advertisements can improve advertisement success rates and returns on investments significantly. During this process, through the use of blockchain technology, AIRBLOC also protects individuals’ data privacy, rewards Data Providers and provides full data transparency and traceability. Today’s data market, which is dominantly controlled by centralized services a.k.a “walled gardens” and big data brokers who aggregate and sell data to large enterprises for profit. Often, most individuals are completely alienated from the data market. Individual users who are the original data source are not given fair rewards and they do not own the data.
Smaller Apps with relatively less number of customer data compared to larger Apps cannot sell nor monetize their customers’ data as effectively. Because in order to participate in the data trading market, sufficient amount of customer data is needed. Meanwhile, from the Data Consumer’s side, small and medium-sized enterprises are often barred from purchasing data even in small amounts. Even large enterprises can only access data related to market trends. With such limited data sets, it is tough for them to execute highly effective micro-targeted advertisement campaigns towards relevant individuals for higher returns on investment. With AIRBLOC, Users can directly submit data to the blockchain data supply chain. Users can track and control their data transactions, as well as monetize their own data.
How AIRBLOC Works?
AIRBLOC is a decentralized personal data exchanges platform. On AIRBLOC, data which is collected transparently and legitimately from Users and Apps (with the AIRBLOC SDK integrated) will be sold to Data Consumers via the AIRBLOC Data Marketplace. Since transactions on the AIRBLOC Data Marketplace are facilitated by smart contracts, it allows Users to earn direct revenues through data monetization.
With AIRBLOC, Users are granted the following benefits: 1) Tracking; 2) Control; and 3) Monetization. AIRBLOC’s data supply chain built on top of blockchain technology allows Users to track and view a transparent record of all data ownership and transaction flows. Users will also be able to view which data was collected and control the extent to which they would like to sell their data on the AIRBLOC Marketplace. For example, Users can decide to sell their entire raw personal data, or only sell the rights to be targeted by advertisers.
Moreover, in accordance with the revenue distribution algorithms as specified in the smart contract, Users will receive revenues generated from actual data usage or sales. During this process, a middle-party intervention is impossible, and the majority of revenue generated will be returned to Users, while a minimum level of revenue required for network operation will be charged.
Through AIRBLOC’s Software Development Kit (SDK), as well as DAuth, Apps can now monetize User data on AIRBLOC Marketplace on Users’ behalf. AIRBLOC’s DAuth is a procedure that acquires approval from Users to sell their personal data. In other words, Users will have to approve the corresponding service or App, if they are to sell Users’ data on their behalf on the AIRBLOC Marketplace. So, when Apps use DAuth, it creates legitimacy and transparency in data transactions. Also, sales revenues can be shared in the form of ABL tokens with the Users via smart contract,
AIRBLOC enables Data Consumers to legitimately purchase readily accessible data from the AIRBLOC Data Marketplace. In the AIRBLOC Data Marketplace, even small-scale advertisers in search of small amounts of quality data are able to purchase data too. Accordingly, these Data Consumers experience cost-savings as they would have less reliance on the expensive DMP software for data.
Furthermore, with AIRBLOC’s features, the quality and granularity of data collected from Users or Apps can be far better than those purchased from traditional data brokers. Also, with the AIRBLOC SDK integrated on Apps, these data on the AIRBLOC Data Marketplace are (1) free from falsification; and (2) free from duplication because it allows full traceability and provenance tracking of the data all the way to the data source.
AIRBLOC offers two types of tokens. One is the AIRBLOC (ABL), and the other is AIRBLOC Reward (AIR). ABL is a transferable ERC20 token, and AIR is a non-transferrable token belonging to Users, but can later be converted into ABL on a 1:1 ratio.
ABL is used as a currency unit for data trading, or to pay for data. To get ABL, you need to buy it from an Exchange or convert AIR into ABL. Advertisers can pay by ABL to purchase data, or pay to run Data Campaigns. In addition, more than a certain amount of ABL is needed as a deposit for the refinery to refine the data. ABL ICO token is required to participate in AIRBLOC Network.
